How Can You Get This Kind of Business Account?

You can get a merchants account easily enough by doing two things:

1. You must complete an online application, and

2. You must sign a fee agreement.

However, understanding and choosing among the many companies offering these accounts to businesses can be very difficult if you do not have any financial experience in your background. There are many companies with various offers for you to consider. Beware, carefully study and understand the fine print before you sign anything.

There are three primary feeds involved in getting a business credit card account. Namely:

1. A set-up fee which varies widely from company to company.

2. The percentage you will pay for each transaction based on the amount of the sale.

3. The monthly fees - service fees which again can vary quite a bit.

In addition to the three fees mentioned above, it is most important to look for and seriously consider any contract obligations. Although a merchant account might offer what seems to be a great deal, he might obligate you for a long period of time. You should also be aware of any penalties that will be charged for getting out to the contract if for some reason things do not work out (from either or both sides).

All these fees should be compared and analyzed. What looks good from a cursory glance might not be the best deal for you. So take your time and look to see what several companies have to offer.

Types of Business Credit Card Accounts

There are two types of merchant accounts: your own established merchant account with a credit card company or a third party account with a credit card company.

Usually, it is quite difficult for a new business to secure a merchant account through a credit card company. This is also true of home businesses and certain types of small businesses. There seldom is enough credit history or trust for companies to open up accounts for these small or new businesses.

Most small businesses open accounts through third party merchant account providers. These third party merchants are companies who will accept credit card payments on behalf of the usually small or home business.

PayPal is one of the most popular third party merchants online today. They have no set- up fee and a sliding fee for individual transactions. The transaction fee is very reasonable for the service provided. They accept both physical and digital goods merchant sales. They offer various methods for interfacing with their site. PayPal also processes subscriptions and one-time payments.

Click Bank is another providing this type of third party service. They require a one time set-up fee, a small transaction fee and a set percentage of each sale.

Although small businesses and home businesses have limited choices when looking for a credit card merchant account, both PayPal and Click Bank are sure to meet your expectations.
